Concierge Association

    Last week I had an opportunity to join the CASA social hour at the Palm Restaurant. Of course the food & service was outstanding. And, as always re-acquainting oneself with Concierges’’  is always the highlight and purpose of attending,
   But something else occurred. While sitting in the midst of young and aspiring future leaders of our industry, I was overwhelmed by the spirit of experience that was leading the room with knowledge, speeches and genuine care of this organization. I can speak from experience as a participating affiliate member. This small room of concierges has more impact on our city tourism industry than anyone can imagine. I watched Jenny Chavez, John Ruiz. And Shirley Ponds glow with enthusiasm, just like they did 16 years ago at my first ever concierge gathering.
   Why is this important? Well, for one thing, it shows that there is a career in this, and secondly it shows that there is a need to stay involved and very active. Just imagine your hotel without a concierge, especially San Antonio..
   The irony is that you have an opportunity to make this organization even stronger. Stay involved and get involved. This town needs you, this industry needs you, your colleagues need you and, especially ,without any reservation ,the affiliate members like myself, absolutely need you..
 
Keep up the great work, and thanks for the last 16 years (and counting)
